Aspens at nighttime

Aspens at nighttime

Can you imagine being in the Rockies and looking through the Aspen’s at nighttime? Deep Blue iridized glass is used as a background to give the illusion of a moonlit night. The golden aspen leaves glow from the moonlight and the ground is covered with all the colors of a Colorado fall. This disk is 10 inches in diameter and contour fused to give texture and depth.

Country Field

Country Field

A country field with flowers and a stately shade tree are the theme for this fused glass platter. Made using glass frit as a watercolor technique, this platter is a reminder of the beauty of spring time in the plains.  If you look close – there is even a white building in the background. This disk is contour fused to give it texture and depth.

Fall in the Aspens

Fall in the Aspens

Another creation using glass frit. “Fall in the Aspens” is the theme for this platter. It is a 11 inch circle with deep amber, oranges and browns – typical of the late fall in an Aspen field. There is even a little bit of copper color in the trees. This is my tribute to my time in Colorado. (I’m just a little bit homesick for the Rockies.) $250.00

Cherry Blossom Plate

Cherry Blossom Plate

I finally get to apply some of the things I learned from Ann Nye’s Class. A spring time Cherry Blossom tree decorates this 11 inch clear disk of glass. The bright pink blossoms are beautiful and there is even a little Cardinal on one of the branches. This was so much fun to make.

Light bars on mini-stumps

Light bars on mini-stumps

Fun and a little eclectic, these pattern bars are contour fused pieces of glass on a clear base. Standing on a piece of tree branch resembling a mini-stump, they create a wonderful contrast between the smoothness of the glass and the rough texture of nature. These little light-bars shine beautifully in any light. These would be perfect for a small window sill, desk or even on a bookcase. Available at “The Garden Gallery” $20.00 each.

Ornament Dish

This 5X5 inch Sushi dish is designed for the 2012 Christmas Season. It is a deep red ornament with a textured white stipe through the middle. Fired as a contour fuse and slumped into a shallow sushi dish design. See this dish and other new pieces at The Garden Gallery in Elkhorn.
